The presenter will discuss why to use music in the classroom. She will share student feedback from her own classroom. The presenter will discuss the types of music she uses in class and the many different ways that music is incorporated. Who will teach you
Kerisa Baedke es maestra de español en una escuela de octavo y noveno grado en Waukee, Iowa. Kerisa ha enseñado por treinta y un años. Es maestra de español y de francés, pero en su escuela actual sólo enseña español. Hace veinte años que Kerisa trabaja para Concordia Language Villages y fue directora de un campamento de inmersión de español. Además, es instructora en el programa Master of Education in World Language Instruction de Concordia College y Concordia Language Villages. Kerisa es muy activa en organizaciones de maestros y ha sido reconocida por ellas. En 1996, Kerisa fue nombrada Teacher of the Year por Iowa World Language Association (IWLA). Kerisa es Past President de IWLA. En 2009 Kerisa fue nominada como Teacher of the Year para the Central States Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (CSCTFL). Kerisa fue miembro del Board of Directors de CSCTFL de 2010 a 2015. Kerisa es co-Program Chair de la conferencia anual de IWLA y en 2015 fue Program Chair de la conferencia anual de CSCTFL. IWLA le presentó the Distinguished Service Award por sus años de dedicación en la sala de clase y a la profesión.
